Vision Challenge (Field-of-View Test)
★Exhibit Content: Human Visual Field ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: 1. Place your chin on the bracket, keep your head and eyes still. 2. Use both hands to control the left and right knobs respectively to adjust the lighting range of the indicator lights in front. 3. Check how large your visual field is through the indicator lights. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a display stand, a bracket, a lighting system, and buttons. Through electromechanical interaction, it allows visitors to understand the width and boundaries of their visual field, gain a deeper self-awareness, and is recommended by the KexMall exhibit mall. Visitors sit on the measurement stool, place their chin on the bracket, and press the "Start" button; the middle light turns on. Visitors place their hands on the buttons on both sides but do not press them yet; when ready, press the right button to increase the number of lights to both sides; press the left button to decrease the number of LED lights toward the center. ★Scientific Principle: The visual field actually refers to the range of naturally visible area when the head is fixed and the eyeballs are stationary. For a normal person, the monocular visual field in the horizontal direction is about 90 degrees, and the binocular visual field is about 180 degrees. However, each person's visual field range is different, which is closely related to our genes. The visual field refers to the spatial range that can be seen when the eyes look at an object directly in front while the head and eyeballs are fixed; this is called the static visual field. The range seen when the eyes are moving is called the dynamic visual field, and it is commonly expressed in angles. The size and shape of the visual field are related to the distribution of sensory cells on the retina, and the range of the visual field can be measured with a perimeter.
