Light Game

Optics & Eye Health

★Exhibit Content: Mirror Reflection ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: 1. Press the "Start" button, and a laser beam will be emitted from the starting point below; 2. Turn the handwheels to adjust the rotation of the optical elements, reflecting the light upward layer by layer; 3. Adjust the rotation angle of the optical elements to make the light successfully pass through the bullseye. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit mainly consists of optical elements, photoelectric sensors, handles, buttons, LED light strips, etc., and is a recommended exhibit by KexMall. There are 4 rotatable handles on the platform, each equipped with a combination of three plane mirrors, forming an optical element. Turning the handles adjusts the angle of the plane mirrors to reflect light. A laser receiver is fixed at the top of the exhibit, and a laser emitter at the bottom. Visitors press the button to activate the laser emitter, and use the handles to adjust the angles of the plane mirrors. The 4 handles work together to change the direction of light propagation, allowing the beam to reach the receiving end at the top and trigger the photoelectric sensor to light up the LED strip. ★Scientific Principle: The direction of light propagation depends on the medium. In the same medium, without encountering a reflector, light travels in a straight line. In the same medium, if it encounters a reflector, light changes direction. The rotatable optical elements in the exhibit are all plane mirrors or curved mirrors. When the laser emitted from the starting point hits the plane mirror or curved mirror, reflection occurs, changing the propagation direction. By changing the angle of the plane mirror or curved mirror, the direction of light reflection also changes. By adjusting these plane mirrors or curved mirrors to appropriate angles, the linearly propagating laser can undergo multiple reflections and successfully pass through the bullseye.
