Eyeball Imaging
★Exhibit Content: Eye Imaging ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: Press the start button, turn the dial, and adjust the focal length to display the image clearly on the eye model. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit uses a simulation model to allow participants to understand the structure of the eye and the principles of eye imaging through interactive experience, and visually demonstrate the causes of nearsightedness and farsightedness. It is a recommended exhibit for the PopsciCat Exhibit Store. The main body of the exhibit consists of an operation console, an eye model, an imaging light source, and an optical lens dial. The imaging light source is fixed at one end of the operation console and is a lit letter F; the eye model is fixed at the other end. In front of the eye model, a variable lens is installed to simulate the lens of the eye, and a ground glass is installed at the back to simulate the retina. The optical lens dial is fixed in front of the eye model. ★Scientific Principle: The structure of the eye is equivalent to a convex lens, and the image formed by an object on the retina must be a real image. The image on the retina should be inverted. However, any object we normally see is upright. This conflict with "empirical laws" actually involves the adjustment function of the cerebral cortex and the influence of life experience. Farsightedness is when the focal point after refraction falls behind the retina; nearsightedness is when the focal point after refraction falls in front of the retina.
