Telescope Principle

Optics & Eye Health

★Exhibit Content: Interactive science popularization experience of the optical imaging principles of refracting and reflecting telescopes ★Interaction: Mechanical interaction ★Operation: Pull the magnifying glass on the track, slide it to a suitable position, and observe the starry sky pattern through the lens. ★Exhibit Description: "Telescope Principle" is an interactive exhibit for science popularization of geometric optics and astronomical observation, belonging to the astronomical optics exhibition area, and is a recommended exhibit by KexMall. The exhibit uses a standard white and blue striped science operation console, equipped with a linear sliding track, two sets of movable metal bracket magnifying glasses, and a starry sky graphic description board. Visitors slide the lens to change the object distance and image distance, simulating the optical path of a refracting telescope; a display screen synchronously explains the structures of refracting and reflecting telescopes, visually comparing the two imaging methods of lens refraction focusing and concave mirror reflection focusing, and dissecting the core optical logic of astronomical telescopes observing the starry sky. ★Scientific Principle: The exhibit demonstrates the two classic optical path principles of refracting telescopes and reflecting telescopes. Refracting telescope: uses a convex lens as the objective lens, light refracts through the lens, converges to the focal plane to form a real image, and the eyepiece magnifies the image. It has the characteristics of wide field of view, clear imaging, and high contrast; Reflecting telescope: relies on a concave parabolic mirror to converge light, which is then reflected by a flat mirror to the eyepiece, achieving long-distance celestial imaging. The exhibit changes the optical path distance through a slidable lens, intuitively showing the influence of focal length and object distance on image size, and fully restoring the underlying optical logic of astronomical observation equipment.
