By changing gears, visitors turn the handwheel and obtain different wheel speeds, demonstrating the working principle of an automatic transmission. ★Scientific Principle: Why do gear speeds differ for different gears? An automatic transmission is a special planetary gear transmission. It is composed of an outer ring gear set, a planetary gear set, a clutch set, and other components. During operation, by changing the engagement state of each clutch (shifting gears), different constraints are applied to the sun gear and planetary carrier, thereby changing the transmission paths between gear sets and altering the transmission ratio between the input shaft and output shaft.
