Blind Spot Avoidance

Life & Safety

★Exhibit Content: Knowledge of blind spot avoidance for large vehicles and traffic safety education ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction + multimedia presentation ★Operation: Press the start button to begin the experience; use the forward and backward buttons to control the pedestrian model moving at the intersection; observe the accident simulation triggered when the pedestrian is in the blind spot as the truck turns right. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a display stand, a transparent acrylic protective cover, an intersection sand table scene, a truck model, a moving pedestrian module, a 13.3-inch display screen, and control buttons. It is a recommended exhibit from the KexMall exhibit store. The sand table recreates a realistic intersection traffic scene, equipped with a drivable truck model and a movable pedestrian module, paired with a multimedia display that synchronously plays demonstration animations. After the visitor presses the start button, the truck model begins to move. The pedestrian model is controlled via buttons to move at the intersection. When the vehicle turns right and the pedestrian enters the visual blind spot area, the system triggers an accident simulation animation and warning feedback, intuitively presenting the blind spot distribution and potential risks of large vehicles. This helps visitors build traffic safety awareness and master practical knowledge of blind spot avoidance. ★Scientific Principle: Due to their large body size and high driver's seat position, large vehicles have multiple visual blind spots around them that the driver cannot directly observe. In particular, the inner wheel difference area when the vehicle turns right is a high-incidence zone for traffic accidents. The inner wheel difference refers to the area formed by the non-overlapping paths of the front and rear wheels when a vehicle turns. Pedestrians or non-motorized vehicles in this area are very likely to be pulled under the vehicle. Through physical models combined with multimedia animations, the exhibit transforms the abstract concepts of visual blind spots and inner wheel difference into intuitive scene simulations, allowing visitors to immersively experience blind spot risks, understand the scientific basis of traffic safety avoidance, and enhance safety awareness for daily travel.
