Hypothermia Response
★Exhibit Content: The dangers of hypothermia and the correct first aid methods for hypothermia in wilderness scenarios ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction + multimedia presentation ★Operation: 1. Press the "Start" button to begin the interaction; 2. Watch the multimedia animation to learn about hypothermia scenarios and symptoms; 3. According to the prompts, touch the "Treatment Method" module to the recognition area for treatment; 4. Watch the multimedia and the figure's body temperature changes to see if the treatment is successful. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a square display stand, a 23.5-inch high-definition screen, an interactive figure model, multiple treatment function modules, a temperature feedback display, and a start button. It is a recommended exhibit from the PopsciCat Exhibit Mall. The stand integrates an interactive system simulating hypothermia treatment, and the figure model has built-in temperature light feedback. After visitors press the start button, the screen plays an animation of a wilderness scenario where a storm causes hypothermia, showing hypothermia stages and corresponding symptoms; visitors select treatment modules from the storage area and place them in the recognition area. When correct treatment methods such as adding warm clothing are chosen, the figure's low-temperature indicator lights gradually turn red, and the temperature display area rises accordingly; when wrong methods such as hot water or rubbing the limbs are chosen, the cold blood from the limbs quickly returns to the heart, and the body temperature drops further. Each choice corresponds to a dedicated treatment animation and changes in the character's facial expression. After successful treatment and the body temperature returns to normal, the experience ends. ★Scientific Principle: Hypothermia refers to the body losing heat faster than it can generate heat, causing a continuous drop in core body temperature, accompanied by symptoms such as shivering, confusion, and weakened heart and lung function. In severe cases, it can be life-threatening and is a high-risk emergency in wilderness environments. The core of correct hypothermia treatment is to stop further heat loss and gradually raise core body temperature, such as adding warm clothing to insulate against external cold; wrong actions such as rubbing the limbs or pouring hot water cause the cold blood in the limbs to quickly return to the heart, which instead worsens the drop in core body temperature and aggravates the condition. Through interactive simulation and comparison, the exhibit visualizes abstract body temperature changes and treatment logic, helping visitors master correct hypothermia first aid knowledge and correct common treatment misconceptions.
