Invisibility Trick
Operation: 1) Invisibility Experience Device: Insert the test rod into the central hole of the prism assembly, and you will see the middle section of the rod disappear. 2) Light Path Demonstration Device: Turn the handwheel, the laser lights up, and the light is refracted through the prism combination, bypassing the central area, thus achieving invisibility. Exhibit Overview: The exhibit consists of an invisibility experience device and a light path demonstration device. The invisibility experience device has 6 pentagonal prisms and 6 triangular prisms, forming a light refraction combination that makes light bypass the central area to achieve invisibility. When visitors insert the test rod into the hole in the middle of the prism assembly, they will find that the middle section of the rod disappears, while the light only avoids the central area of the prism assembly, and the pattern behind the prism remains clearly visible. The light path demonstration device consists of a laser, a moving mechanism, a prism assembly, an operating handwheel, a transmission mechanism, etc. Turning the handwheel starts the laser and moves the laser's incident point, allowing a clear view of the changes in the light path. Scientific Principle: People can see objects because objects block the passage of light waves. If a material is coated on the surface of an object and can guide the light waves blocked by the object to "go around", then the light seems to be unobstructed. To the observer, the object seems to "not exist", thus achieving visual invisibility. When light waves (including electromagnetic waves) irradiate an object, scattering occurs on the object; after the scattered light waves are received, it indicates the presence of an object there. If the light waves can be made to "turn" and go around the object, then the object can be "invisible".
