Pan Flute (Sound-Capturing Tubes)
Operation: Bring your ear close to the tube openings and listen to the differences and patterns in the sounds. Function Overview: This exhibit consists of 7 tubes of the same diameter but different lengths. When you bring your ear close to the tube openings, you will hear different sounds. Scientific Principle: The vibration frequency of an object is related to its own volume. Each tube of different length contains an air column of different length. The 7 tubes of different lengths produce sounds of 7 frequencies. Visitors bring their ears close to the musical tube openings and listen to the sounds inside in sequence, comparing the differences in sound. This allows visitors to understand that tubes of different lengths resonate with surrounding sound waves, and the resonant sounds are all different.
