Hamilton's Puzzle
Operation: Use the magnetic pen on the tabletop to select any vertex of the regular hexagonal planar graph; choose a route starting from one vertex, pass through all vertices exactly once, and finally return to the starting point. Function Overview: The exhibit consists of a regular dodecahedron solid, LED strips, stainless steel buttons, a magnetic pen, a mini PC, Hall sensors, an instruction sign, a fiberglass reinforced plastic tabletop, and a sheet metal base and enclosure. Scientific Principle: The exhibit combines software and hardware, mechanical and electrical methods. On the regular dodecahedron planar graph on the tabletop, each endpoint on the planar graph is a Hall sensor. Visitors can use the magnetic pen to click, causing the Hall sensor to transmit an input signal to the input module. When the Hall sensors at both ends of each edge are in the connected state, the LED strips light up, resembling paths. If visitors realize they have made a wrong move, they can reset using the reset button on the tabletop and reselect the desired path.
